The Pak vs NZ series is good for New Zealand. New Zealand is now 2-0 in this series and 3 matches to go. So, Finn Allen and Devon Convey give the powerplay a good start. Conway is gone for 20 runs. Kane Williamson`s fitness is really concerning for New Zealand. The New Zealand skipper retired hurt on 26 runs due to hamstring problems. The openers Muhammad Rizwan and Saim Ayub gave their wickets in the first two overs. Then Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman played some good shots. The duo played attacking shots and gave winning hope. Fakhar Zaman`s wicket is the turning point of this match. No batter can make the partnership with Babar Azam after the wicket of Fakhar Zaman. Iftikhar Ahmed and Azam Khan’s bad shot selection cost the match.
In this match, the bowlers failed to impress. I don’t know why they were going with Usama Mir. Usama Mir is not an international match player. So, you can go with Muhammad Nawaz because at least he is a good batter and has a good record against New Zealand. Aamir Jamal and Abbas Afridi are very expensive today conceding 43 and 42 runs respectively. Skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi is wicketless but not conceding many runs.
They need to bowl and bat well in the next matches. However, the next matches are do-and-die matches. Dropped Azam Khan and gave a chance to another batter. But, their bad decision selection was to rest the Muhammad Haris. Now, they need to focus on upcoming matches and try to win the series.
