We had some good performances in the PSL 2024 Final and overall tournament. Highlights the players and their performances with bat and ball.
Islamabad United Batting
The opening pair of Islamabad United is one of the excellent pairs in this HBL PSL. An injury replacement for Colin Munro is Martin Guptill, who played marvelous in the last 3 matches. Martin Guptill joined as a cover for Colin Munro but in the final, he replaced Alex Hales. Alex Hales is struggling with his batting form. So, we know Alex Hales is a good player. Colin Munro`s performance is very spectacular in this HBL PSL 2024. The veteran opening batter scores 326 runs at an average of 33 with 3 fifties.
Salman Ali Agha`s first PSL tournament and he played a vital role in this season. He made 310 runs with 2 fifties and was also outstanding in fielding. Do not forget the Azam Khan, the best wicketkeeper of the tournament. Azam Khan is good with gloves, and a bat despite his jumbo weight.
If we did not talk about All-Rounders that`s not fair. Islamabad United Skipper Shadab Khan and Start All-Rounder Imad Wasim. Imad Wasim is traded from Karachi Kings to Islamabad United. Imad Wasim has some awesome moments in the playoffs. He made an important 59 runs against Peshawar Zalmi and 19 runs in the final. Also, he took 12 wickets and made 126 runs. Shadab Khan is phenomenal and leading from the front. Excellent with the bat, ball, field, and captaincy.
Islamabad United Bowling
The bowling of Islamabad United also played a key role in winning the title. So, that`s talk about the Shah brothers Naseem and Hunain. Naseem is the highest wicket-taker for Islamabad United and took 15 wickets. While Hunain took 8 wickets in this tournament. Also, Rumman Raees played only 4 matches and took 5 wickets despite playing fewer matches. Islamabad Captain Shadab Khan took 14 wickets and made 305 runs. For this performance, Shadab Khan is the player of the tournament. Whereas Imad Wasim is the player of the match.
The fielding is excellent and credit goes to the coaches. Despite some losing some message the field. A good season is also for Mike Hesson. Maybe, next year he may continue as a coach of Islamabad United in the HBL PSL.
