MS vs PZ - BLATZOO Reviews - 1

The MS vs PZ ended with Peshawar Zalmi holding their nerve in a thriller to open their account for the first win of the PSL 9. A 5-run victory over Multan Sultans ended their winning streak in 3 successive matches.

MS vs PZ Analysis Review

Multan Sultans

MS vs PZ has some good things that the Sultans are not to do in the next matches. Dawid Malan and Reeza Hendricks’s partnership made hopes for the Sultans to win. But, unfortunately, Dawid Malan is out for 52 runs. Yasir Khan played well scoring 43 runs. Khushdil Shah again failed and I don’t know about his selection in the playing XI. Again Iftikhar Ahmed is trying to win the match for Multan but is out on the second ball off Naveen ul Haq.

The bowling of Multan Sultan has been fair in this match. David Willey and Muhammad Ali again shine with the ball. So Shahnawaz Dahani is good with the ball. But, Abbas Afridi and Iftikhar Ahmed are very costly with the ball—the other reason for the Sultan`s defeat.

The biggest flaw of the match is strike rotation at the lower middle order. They are trying to hit but have to make a strike rotation. Only hitting 6 or 4 is not the only option. Usama Mir hits 2 sixes, and then he has to do a single or double run to save the wickets.

Peshawar Zalmi

MS vs PZ has opened the 1st victory for Peshawar Zalmi. After the first 2 losses, they finally managed to win this game. So, in the next matches, they need to change their opening batters. Muhammad Haris with Babar Azam in the opening combination is better. Push Saim Ayub to number 3 or they can drop Saim Ayub for another batter. The inclusion of Haseebullah Khan for Tom Kohler-Cadmore is an excellent move from Peshawar. He scored a vital 37 off 18 balls. Then the lower middle contributes very well and is 179 for 8 on the scoreboard.

The bowling of Peshawar Zalmi is standing with Luke Wood. Luke Wood`s 13 for 2 in 4 overs is the match-winning spell. Paul Walter and Salman are good in death overs bowling. Naveen ul Haq and Arif Yaqoob are expensive but manage to take wickets. Overall we saw that dropping Amir Jamal and Muhammad Zeeshan is a good decision from Peshawar Zalmi. But, fielding is not good from Peshawar Zalmi. Lots of misfielding and dropped can prevent Peshawar Zalmi. But, they managed to win and need to improve their fielding issues for upcoming matches.
